Spineless

This photo was taken at the TN Aquarium, in this special room for deep sea creatures.  Because of the nature of these creatures, the room was incredibly dark and impossibly hard to take decent picture in.  I took this one with no flash and just tried to let the jellyfish be the light.
It's weird to type out: "jellyfish be the light."

Fried Eggs

These daffodils were photographed on the side of a street in my neighborhood.  I'm blessed enough to live in a place where the grit of the city meets the beauty of the country.
p.s. My friend Carla calls these daffodils the "eggus friedus" variety. :)

Peace Like a River

This was taken in Indiana.  I especially love the serenity of the swans floating by, but the curve of the river also makes an interesting detail.  I included both the color and black and white versions of this photo...I can't decide which one I like better.

Just Hanging Out

When it's cold outside, the zebras just stand as still as possible in one spot.  They don't move...for anything.  Which made it fairly easy to get a face shot of this zebra.

Iris in Bloom

Probably the most unique flower I've ever seen, this photo is one of my favorites.  This iris was growing in my friend and neighbor's front yard.

Lily

Straw

I still haven't totally figured out what kind of plant this is; if it's a lily before the actual flower has bloomed or what, but the angle makes the photo incredible!

Tulips

I love the beauty and vibrant color of these tulips, which I found growing at a local garden.

Ceiling

This is a ceiling of a building that I can only guess was used for worship and meditation by a religious group called the Harmonists, in New Harmony, IN.  The interior sides of the building are painted with various verses, but it was the unique color and detail of the ceiling that caught my eye.

Hungry Butterfly

This was taken at the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga, TN, in the butterfly room.  My favorite part of this photo are the contrasting blue plate and orange slices.  And I'd never seen a butterfly "eat" before.  :)
